About the event
Japanese Bento Bag! Pack your lunch in a delightfully beautiful handmade bag with Kathleen Goddu
(If you took the Boro & sashiko stitching class, please bring any of that fabric along to incorporate)
You will create a gorgeous, handsewn bento bag. A Bento Bag is a bag used to carry your lunch in to work, to outings, to sewing gatherings, etc. I have adapted a pattern to add quilt batting and a boro aesthetic top, that is reversible and will hold heat or cold better. This will require your patience, calm, and quiet meditation while sewing. These are the attributes I gain from this type of stitching. The excitement comes in planning out the placement of your fabric scraps to create a unique balanced piece. We will work slowly, step by step until this is finished.
